Green Kitchen Linens

Updated: Jul 13

Hello, eco-conscious friends and community members!

We couldn't chat with you about eco-friendly kitchen ware without highlighting the 'Your Green Kitchen' company, which is based in Nakusp in British Columbia. Their elegant screen-printed designs are inspired by the natural beauty of the surrounding lakes and the Kootenay Rockies. We thoroughly recommend that you enjoy these kitchen linens every day, and not just on 'special occasions.' (Read on for the simple care instructions.)

Why are these linens the perfect fit for the Replenish Refillery & Zero Waste Store?

We're excited to feature Your Green Kitchen linens on our shelves as they align with our values and mission. Here's how:

  1. Sustainable Materials: 'Your Green Kitchen' uses organic cotton and eco-friendly dyes, ensuring that each product is safe for you and the environment.

  2. Durability and Quality: These linens are designed to last, reducing the need for frequent replacements and minimizing waste.

  3. Functional and Stylish: Combining practicality with a range of fun and beautiful designs, the linens add a touch of elegance (and sometimes whimsy) to any kitchen.

  4. Supporting Local Artisans: By choosing 'Your Green Kitchen', we are supporting small-scale artisans and ethical production practices.

We cannot emphasize enough how gorgeous these kitchen linens are. There's a reason they fly off our shelves! The napkins are soft and durable, and are the perfect reusable option for any table or picnic blanket!

How to Care for Kitchen Linens

'Your Green Kitchen' linens are made from 100% organic cotton, ensuring a soft touch and durability that lasts. Frequent washing may lead to some fading and add a charming, vintage look to your linens, making them even more unique and appealing over time.

  • Washing: Machine wash in cold water with like colors. Avoid using bleach or fabric softeners.

  • Drying: Hang to dry. High heat can cause the fabric to shrink.

  • Ironing: If needed, iron on a low setting. High temperatures can damage the fibers and affect the durability of the linen.

  • Stain Removal: Treat stains promptly by blotting the area with a damp cloth. Avoid rubbing, as this can push the stain deeper into the fabric. Keep an eco-friendly stain remover to hand in your laundry room. (Customers love our Buncha Farmers Stain Removal Sticks.)

  • Storage: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent discoloration.

By creating reusable, high-quality kitchen linens, Rouvè aimed to offer an alternative that aligns with a zero-waste lifestyle. Each item is thoughtfully designed and crafted, reflecting her commitment to sustainability and aesthetic appeal. The' Your Green Kitchen' range includes tea towels, table napkins, produce bags, bowl covers, aprons, bags and Furoshiki gift wrap.

Make the Switch Today

Small changes can make a big difference in reducing the waste that ends up in our landfills. Consider switching out plastic wrap for fabric bowl covers, using reusable produce bags at the grocery store, opting for fabric napkins over disposable ones, and wrapping gifts in fabric instead of paper. These simple swaps can significantly reduce the amount of garbage you take to the curb each week!

Thank you for being part of our eco-friendly community, whether it's in our Summerland store, or online.
